Modern MLM

Modern MLM

This is the term David Williams calls today's MLM.  Much of network marketing has changed since the late 80's when it took off with the economy.  When the Internet really made inroads in the early 2000's and 'Internet Marketing' started competing for the same people that often joined MLM companies, it offered a different way to make money other than MLM, network marketing companies got hit.

However, due to the low cost of computers, and the internet as a whole, many new MLM companies appeared, and grew globally.  Instead of 40 or so, there are now thousands and thousands of MLM companies.

Then the  rise of social networking appeared, and further influenced both MLM and Internet marketing.

Some Wall St insiders are suggesting MLM is dead, and actually 'shorted' Herbalife (whose stock just took off after the short).  They did this in their mistaken belief that the ability of consumers to find out about new products would only be through the internet, rather then through face to face methods of networking .

But author David Williams does not think so.  He says just like CD's provided a better quality of listening pleasure or people than did attending a live rock concert, people still enjoy attending live events.  Person to person, to be with people, is still a pretty strong force in mankind.

In fact, learning about something new from a 'person to person' meeting is so strong, its done in supermarkets all over the world.  You can 'like' on Facebook all you 'like' but trying out something new, and hearing from someone who says 'its good' is hard to beat.

Modern MLM folks use both ways to build their  business, and we'll be hearing more about that in these pages soon.

New Video on Recruiting Doctors into MLM and Network Marketing ( #MLM and #networkmarketing for you hashtag lovers).  Amazing fun making green screen video's.  I was speaking with the author, David Williams, about this book, (he just published a new book on how to recruit in mlm and network marketing with postcards), and he was telling me he got a lot of flack about it.

Lots of people want to keep this doctors method private and confidential.  When David taught it at seminars, people paid over $10K for the weekend training.  So I guess for less than $15 no one likes this secret method taught.

But David is retired and says not enough networkers read books.  Books helped him, he told me about his reading of Don Failla's napkin presentation book and how it really helped him understand MLM when he was just 3 months into his first company.

Reading and learning is vital, he says.

He is working on a book now, on how to brand yourself using the internet to succeed at networking - he says if you want to play online, you must follow this method.  Its what the guru's are doing now.  He is making a simple map and how to book on it for the rest of us!
